Subio Privacy Policy

Subio (“the app”, “we”, “us”) helps you keep track of your recurring subscriptions and upcoming renewals. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. By using Subio, you agree to the practices described here.

01Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive basic account details (your name, email address, and profile photo) through Google Sign-In and Firebase Authentication, used to create and secure your account.

Subio no longer reads your email. Earlier versions could scan your Gmail inbox to find subscriptions. That feature was removed in version 1.0.7, and the app no longer requests the gmail.readonly permission or any other access to your mail. If you granted Gmail access to Subio in the past, you can confirm it is gone — and remove it if it is still listed — on your Google Account permissions page.

Apps installed on your device

To suggest subscriptions you may want to track, Subio checks whether a fixed list of well-known subscription apps (such as Netflix, Spotify or Disney+) is installed on your device. This check uses Android’s package visibility feature and is limited to that predefined list, declared in the app itself — Subio cannot see your other apps and does not request permission to list them.

This check runs entirely on your device. The result is shown to you as suggestions and is never transmitted, stored on a server, or shared with anyone. Suggestions are only ever suggestions: nothing is added to your subscriptions until you confirm it and enter the amount yourself.

Limited Use disclosure. Subio’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Subio requests only basic sign-in information (name, email address and profile photo). We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to others except to comply with applicable law or as part of a merger or acquisition.

Subscription data

Subscriptions you add are stored locally on your device, in the app’s database. This data stays on your device.

App preferences

Settings such as your chosen theme, currency, and notification timing are stored locally on your device.

Crash & diagnostic data

In released versions, the app uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and diagnostic logs so we can fix bugs and improve stability.

Advertising

Subio displays ads through Google AdMob, which may collect and use a device advertising identifier and related data to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google’s policies.

Subio relies on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

04Data Retention & Deletion

Subscription data and preferences live on your device and are removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account in the app, which signs you out and removes your authentication record. To revoke Subio’s access to your Google account entirely, visit your Google Account permissions page.

05Data Security

All network traffic uses encrypted HTTPS connections. We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

06Children’s Privacy

Subio is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

07Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
